If you have a lot of junk that you don't want anymore, consider doing a car boot sale. There are plenty of them running throughout the UK and they are usually on a weekend or bank holiday.

Once you have found a boot sale near you, check if you are required to book and you are ready to go

What do I need to remember

There are a few things you need to organise before you set out on the day:

• make sure you have plenty of change
• take plenty of carrier bags
• price everything beforehand
• find a table to display your items (paste tables are a good idea)
• check what your stuff is worth

When you first start setting up your stall at the car boot sale, it is likely that antique and collectable dealers will be rummaging through your stuff before it is our of the car!

It is a good idea to look up what your items are worth before you price them up, you could end up selling a valuable item for pennies!
